Itinerary description
From Kiotari, we climb up the mountain on a dirt road surrounded by wild vegetation and Aleppo pines to the ruins of a castle perched on a rocky hill. Located only 4 km from the coast, at an elevation of 250 m, it enjoys a strategic position with vast views over the sea and the inland part of the island. The stairway and entrance to the castle, most of its thick walls and battlements, and two towers remain intact. We then descend into the old-fashioned village of Askiplio, with its splendid Byzantine church and huddled white houses, to return to Kiotari. Along the way we enjoy splendid views over the sea, from the beaches of Pefkos to Plimiri. We conclude our walk on a lovely sand and pebble beach.
Transfer available on request: € 10 – € 25 per person (depending on departure point) both ways
