Arriving at the Hill of Filerimos for the first stop, first visit the monastery of Panagia Filerimos, built in the 10th century by the Knights.
The temple of Athena and the acropolis of Ialyssos pre-existed in the 5th century.
Of course, it is worth crossing the road of Martyrdom where at the end you will meet the 16m high cross.
Along the way you will meet many peacocks that will beautify the route.
The view of course is unique as you can see the airport runway west, north the new town of Ialyssos and with good weather to the coasts of Asia Minor.
Leaving there we go to the valley of butterflies where crossing it, you meet a rare species of butterfly in a beautiful, natural environment. Experience the rare phenomenon where every year from the beginning of June to the end of September the Valley is flooded with thousands of butterflies.
Walk the valley towards the end where you reach the monastery of Kalopetra built in 1484.
In the village of Empona we make our lunch break where you try the "snacks" of Greek cuisine, accompanied by Greek wine, which will impress you.
Our last stop is the castle of Kritinia.
The castle began to be built in 1472 and was completed in the 16th century by the knights to protect it from Turkish attacks.
Inside the castle there are ruins of the church of St. Paul.
The magnificent view will reward you where you can see the island of Halki and behind the imposing Mount Attaviros.
